CHARACTER DRIVEN ZINFANDELS
We make Zinfandel because no other grape is better suited to express the terroir of Sonoma County, California. Zinfandel is uniquely suited for our climate, as proven by the remarkable longevity of some of our favorite vineyards. Character in wine comes from the site and the choices that the winemaker makes along the way. There are millions of decisions to make—the farming, picking, delivery, extraction, fermentation temperature, aging, barrel choices, time on lees—all these decisions result in the finished wine and stand to define its character.
MONTE ROSSO VINEYARD
Monte Rosso is one of California’s legendary vineyards. First planted in 1886 by Emmanuel Goldstein, it’s considered a sacred site by winemakers and collectors alike. Perched on a southwest facing slope of Moon Mountain, Monte Rosso’s iron-rich, volcanic soils and 1,300-foot elevation combine for an unforgettable experience in the glass.
MACMURRAY VINEYARD
MacMurray Ranch was once the sprawling retreat of Hollywood legend, Fred MacMurray, who raised cattle and enjoyed fishing and painting in the serene Sonoma County setting. Planted to vines in 1990s, the idyllic vineyard is perched on top of a warm hilltop site, producing elegant, peppery Zinfandel, telltale signs of its Russian River Valley origins.
TELDESCHI VINEYARD
The Teldeschi Vineyard is among the seminal sites in Ravenswood’s history. One of the first vineyards that founder Joel Peterson sourced from, Teldeschi is situated in warm pocket of northern Sonoma County and planted to dry-farmed old vine Zinfandel. As distinct and expressive as the Teldeschi Family themselves, its classic dark fruit and notes of black pepper represent the epitome of a character-driven wine.

DRY CREEK VALLEY
Aromatic, flavorful and smooth, our fruit-forward Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel offers generous notes of fresh-picked red fruit and dark berries layered with rich hints of spice.
